Rob Watson has been a cornerstone of Norths Chess Club since 2018, stepping into the Director of Play role at very short notice—and excelling ever since! His dedication to the club is unmatched.

A Master of Organisation:

• Oversees club nights and manages tournament pairings with precision.
• The go-to expert on chess rules and organisation, ensuring fair play and smooth events.
• Instrumental in Norths’ reputation as the best-organised chess club in NSW, contributing to our record-breaking membership growth.

Contributions Beyond the Club:

• Serves as Secretary for both the NSW Chess Association and the Australian Chess Federation, keeping Norths connected to the broader chess community.
• A highly qualified chess arbiter who also runs training seminars, sharing his expertise with players and organisers nationwide.
