The two major blitz tournaments each year are the Club Championship Blitz and the Purdy Blitz. Each is played the week prior to their long form competitions. Other blitz games are played during the year.

Over $2,100 prize pool. 1st $400 - 2nd $200 - 3rd $150 - $120 each in 10 rating categories and best female and best senior.
If a rating group has only one player, that player will be moved up to the next rating group and no prize will be awarded for the original group.
Entry fees:
On-line or before 15 April in person at a club meeting - Chess Club Members $30; Non-members $40.
Entering In person on the night incurs a $10 surcharge.
Entries:
Players who enter at the club after 7:15 pm will not be included in round 1.
Registered players who are not present for round 1 will be excluded from the tournament.
Tiebreaks:
Ties in will be resolved by applying the following tiebreaks in descending order:
- Buchholtz Cut 1
- Buchholtz Total
- Direct Encounter
